April 2011 meeting

Creating a multi-technique piece
Under the direction of Louise Dudar, members worked on 140 lb watercolour paper, using all manner of mediums, including gouache, acrylic ink, sumi ink, masking tapes, wide chisel edged brushes, sponge brushes, ruling pens, automatic pens, and any other tool or medium in their 'bag of tricks' - that all encompassing "usual calligraphy supplies".

Looks like everyone had a good time!  Here are the results:

Exhibition News

It was touch and go this week whether or not we would be able to hang the exhibition at the Ladner Pioneer Library for the month of April.  Delta Arts Council has lost their funding and as such no longer are able to offer the different galleries they used to have for their use.  We received permission to hang the exhibition this month from the Corporation of Delta but the July and October bookings have not been confirmed yet.

The area at the library is an easy spot to hang our works and there are 18 pieces on display.  And just as we finished hanging them all, we had our first visitor! she seemed pleased with what she saw.

Thank You to Pat Williams and Cheryl Tasaka for their help today!
